first up .... this lovely french chest that I found at an estate sale
A great candidate for a make-over - she is clean as a pin and in great shape
I just knew my bestie would probably love to add this piece to her french collection
I picked this up at my favorite antique store in Slayden, Mississippi
I can't decide if I should paint it or refinish it. I think I like the dark wood
this would be easy to sand down and put a couple of coats of stain on it
for $1.00 - I couldn't resist
and a buck for these flip-flops ... they have already served me well
more on that left foot soon... brace yourself ... the pics are ugly scary
good luck "sailing" this Saturday!
I am posting this to Rhoda's Thrifty Treasures party - check it out and see what others are finding

We scored this past weekend. I got some beautiful knobs that I have no idea what I will do with them but i loved them and couldn't resist especially since the lady was practically giving things away. However I have found some awesome stuff out by the dumpster! You should see this mirror that someone was just throwing away!! Nothing wrong with it and so much potential. I need to make a blog post about it. Ben thinks I'm crazy but it's almost like a high when I find something for free that I can just have. And yard sailing is my favorite thing to do on the weekend.
ReplyDeleteShauna, I know what you mean about the high, or excitement when I find something on the cheap - but curbside or dumpster diving is an whole new level of thrilling! I hope you blog about it. More later...
DeleteYour foot is looking great. Have fun your last couple of free days.
ReplyDeleteLove the dresser you found at the Estate Sale - so pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! :) Woo hoo for yard sale season!
ReplyDeleteI have heard the Mississippi has the best 'junk' for the money...I may have to take a drive down there. Especially since I am addicted to those 1950s french bedroom suites!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of all the fabulous finds you southern gals find! I see a road trip once things cool down again. {Can you believe the forecast is 93 for NJ today? Too hot, too soon!} I especially like the table you are using as a night stand. I would leave the dark wood.

I love yardsaling, too! I just found the cutest wooden crate and old clock shelf for a really good deal! I see those yard sale or estate sale signs and my heart starts racing!
