old doors and headboards

I found these doors at a garage sale last summer .... I paid $5.00 for each door
I have never blogged about this, because I can't seem to get a picture that I like of the finished product ..  the room is painted "portabelo" brown and I guess it is always going to be too dark for me and my point and shoot....   these pictures just don't show how cute this turned out... I am vain like that ...

I thought they were really cool just like this ... and staged them a couple of different places in the house until I got the courage to paint them, and get Jeff on board to help me turn them in to this ...

I asked for crown molding on top, but never expected a shelf for my junk ... he is awesome lilke that

I sprayed primer and "Heirloom White" on the doors, and applied glaze
this was before Annie Sloan Chalk Paint entered my life

the crown molding was a score from a garbage pile in the neighborhood ...

this is the first project that I used glaze on

Jeff found this jewelry for the doors at SY Wilson's
he bought two, and paid about $6.00

not bad for about $18.00

actually, I don't know if this is a crappy picture, or a crappy job.....
anywhooo....  I'm still enjoying it

I painted the frenchy endtable too - I sold it a month or so ago

Even though doors to headboards are old ideas now ...  I think I'll link up to
Miss Mustard Seed's furniture feature friday party

check it out girls ....  I am amazed week after week at what a women can do!

Ι ԁon't like pizza sauces, so I opt to use two cans of diced tomatoes as the first layer-one can of plain and the other of Italian.
